Being a teacher is hard work, not only to prepare classes, but also to handle problems in the classroom like laziness, tardiness, bulling, behaviors and guys who has problems in their house, etc. and this affects the teaching learning process.
Many students
Many students don´t see their behavior as teachers do. There are many factors that affects their behavior like for example: their poverty, bad habits, personal issues, even social situations,etc.
We as teachers need to be careful with these kind of students, they are not easy to control.
To improve this, use strategies to maintain a better control in your students and establish discipline in order to obtain more calm atmosphere in the classroom.
-Make the rules clear from day 1
Establish some rules that they have to respect in the classroom and try to write it in a chart near to the board or wall with the purpose students can remember it everyday. Don´t write more than 5, more than 5 rules can become overwhelming for students and difficult for them to retain. These are some tips that you can consider:
-Be physically close to the problem
student behave better when you are near. Try to seat the "trouble makers" near your desk or while walking through the rows of desks, take more time standing behind those students who are more likely to misbehave than others. Sometimes your physical presence is more persuasive than the punishments.
- See each student as an individual
Unfortunately, not all students come from stable, happy homes. When disciplining a student, it is a good idea to take their background into consideration. If their parents yelling at them constantly, they will use to repeat and have bad temperament. If a student comes from a home that cannot provide enough food for the family, that student will be more concerned about where his/her next meal will come from more than learning something in class. As teacher we need to be psychologists and learn as much about the child's home life as possible in order to find out what the best approach is to helping them stay away from misbehavior.
-Try different discipline approaches
Not all students have the same behaviors, so an universal discipline plan will not work for every student. For example, some students are terrified of missing recess; others require different means of discipline in order to help them stay focused and succeed in the classroom.
- Be the adult
Students need to have an authority figure in the classroom, someone who can control them and that person is you, take into consideration that students will not respond well to childish sarcasm, arguing, or yelling; the teacher have to use his/her life experience as a teacher and try to work in a rationally solution.

hi Gaby! I know that being a teacher is something really hard, you have to look for a solutions when you have some problems in the classroom, tardiness is one of the most commom problem because when some of your student comes late to your class will disturb your class and the attention that you had from the others, using some penalties for the ones who come late is a very nice strategy, I know that they will try to be on time all the time !!
ResponderEliminarHello Gabriela, I totally agree with a teacher's job is a really hard because a teacher never stops working he/she works in a classroom and also continue working at home preparing classes; moreover a teacher has to deal everyday with the problems that happen in the classroom, we as teachers have the ability to solve or control the students´ behavior, we have to talk with them, also we have to establish rules since the very beggining.

I like where you wrote that teachers have to see students in an individual form as everyone suffer different problems and difficult situations. I think that the teachers have to know their students in order to have a better communication with their students.
ResponderEliminarHi Gabby, working with students is not something easy, so teachers look for new forms of educating students so that they pay attention to the rules that teachers want that they follow,but learners are accustomed to see that those things are common in schools, and they just forget about it, so it is better that teachers invent other activites, so learners feel more motivated in the class.
